Privacy & texting

Ride with Tor is a cycling and running coaching service; your coach is an AI named Tor, who you reach by text. This page explains what we collect and how to control it.

Consent to text

When you text Tor, you agree to receive automated coaching messages (onboarding, your daily workout, and occasional check-ins). Reply STOP anytime to opt out, or START to resume. Message and data rates may apply. Tor's number is for texting, not phone calls.

What we collect

• Your phone number and the messages you exchange with Tor, to run the coaching conversation.
• Your Strava rides, runs, and fitness — only if you connect Strava, to build and adapt your plan. We never receive your Strava password; you authorize us through Strava.
• Your Wahoo account identity and server-held OAuth credentials — only if you connect Wahoo. When you explicitly save a ride, we send its structured cycling workout and optional planned route to Wahoo Cloud and retain provider IDs and a delivery receipt so retries do not create duplicates. We never receive your Wahoo password.
• A cycling-route start location — if you type or share one, or allow location in the Ride with Tor app. When the app is open, it may send Tor one recent fix so he can build from where you are without asking again. Tor can use that app fix for at most 30 minutes. The record expires after 48 hours and is then removed automatically (database cleanup can take a few days); this handoff does not start continuous background tracking. Running plans do not use location or route building.
• Your voice while you hold the app's talk button, so Tor can hear and answer a mid-ride question. Audio is processed only to provide that conversation; it is not used for advertising.

How we use it

Solely to coach you: pick your workouts, build cycling routes, get a ride ready for your bike computer through the app, and save a ride to Wahoo Cloud when you ask. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.

Deleting your data

Text Tor "delete my data" to tombstone the account immediately, stop messaging, and start deletion. The deletion worker revokes connected Strava and Wahoo grants, asks Linq to remove message records still inside its provider retention window, and then performs a delayed, verified purge of GoFast's database and storage. Messages already delivered to recipients' devices cannot be unsent. Encrypted DynamoDB disaster-recovery copies may retain deleted records for up to 35 days; they are never used for coaching, and any restore reapplies deletion tombstones before service. You can also disconnect either provider in GoFast, or remove Ride with Tor from your Strava or Wahoo account settings, at any time. Disconnecting stops future access; workouts or routes already saved in your Wahoo account are controlled by Wahoo and may remain there until you delete them.
